moodboard

for our media coursework we decided to create a moodboard to show what the two main characters are like. by doing this we could focus on our main characters personality. we seperated the page into two sections and dedicated each part to each character. we chose pink and purple colours for april to show her gender and blue red and greens to show buddys gender. we wanted to emphasis the "geek" so to do this we put math sums and equations on the page as well as a calculater which shows they like maths. we used a green dinosour on buddys side which was also on the film poster. On aprils side we used the big geek glasses which april wore in the poster, advert, and teaser trailer. we also created an american flag to put into the middle to represent that it is an american film. we also put the song we originally wanted to use in the film "everyday" by Buddy Holly.

overall concept behind our promotional package

the concept of my promotional package of a film teaser trailer, a movie poster and magazine cover is to get the taget audience and all audiences interested in our film that will be coming out. The poster wil be released first, showing the genre of the film and not a lot of information to tease the audience. the magazine cover will then be released. and finally the teaser trailer will be realised.
we want the poster to show how unconventional the film is and it also gives the information of who the actors are that are appearing in our film. also by looking at the poster you are able to see what the characters look like. the tag line will also be on the poster " forget chic, go geek".

the magazine cover then gives out a bit more information about what the film is about by telling the audience to buy the magazine to find out more. the magazine also has a different picture to the poster which then shows the variety of scenes and costumes, which hints that its shot in a school setting.
finally the teaser trailer will show various clips from and not from the film to tease the audience into wanting to watch the film, by this time the audience will know the genre and part of what the film is about.
