Filming Evaluation

When filming our teaser trailer we used typical comedy conventions to fit the genre of our film. as we tried to make our film as realistic and funny as possible. We set our teaser trailer in a typical high school setting and used typical teenage drama to base the humour upon. We also used narrative comedy as well as the typical convention of a a teenage romance btween two characters, which causes the audience to laugh. wetried using as many conventional camera angles and shots that were possible these shots being simular to the ones that appeared in "scary movie" as well as in "juno".We used close ups, andextreme close ups to focus on the characters movements to exaggerate the characters facial expressions as well as showing the characters stereotypical geek characteristics.
We also used a tripod to situate the camera and pan the area of the shot to follow movements of the characters, as well as to have the setting present in the background of the shots enabling the audience to see the high school setting, typical of a teen comedy. We added obvious humour through mise-en-scene, costume, props, music, stereotypes and unconventional scenes,
an example of this being where the two main charactersrun into each other and collide.
This allows the audience to laugh at the characters and the type of personalities they portray, which is shown through the costume there are wearing being stereotypical of a geek in comparison to the beauty shot. where the two main characters clothes being considered "unfashionionable"We decided by making everything over the top would add to the humour and entertain the audience. The narrative of our trailer not only is conventional of a comedy but has elements of a romance and spoof genre. Showing a relationship develop between two characters typical of a romance, as well as having the comedy aspects as well as the spoof conventions, taking the mic out of other romantic films. We were inspired by films such as 'Juno,' 'Napoleon Dynamite,' and 'Scary Movie.' The reason we chose to create this type of film was due to wanting to entertain our audience being between the age of 15 and 18 as they would relate to a film of this genre and be entertained as well as being able to relate to such adolecent issues as the ones that would appear in our film.
